|American Watercolor Society, New York City
||Throughout its history the American Watercolor Society (est. 1866) has been a magnet for the best water-media artists. Its flagship event is the Annual Exhibition, which nowadays attracts more than 1200 entrants from around the world. In 2011 the AWS committed to moving beyond simple and labor-intensive means of tracking members and exhibition entrants and implemented Armature. Now the AWS is able to track all aspects of members and their activities within the Society, retain important information about who is entering its exhbitions, and manage relationships with donors and other interested parties. Entry in the Annual Exhibition for 2012 (in the Fall of 2011) was for the first time available online via a simple web page, and members and other entrants could pay dues or the approriate entry fee, make a donation, buy a catalog, and check their entry status, all online at their convenience.
